SHAKING HANDS:
When we meet friend, we shake hands.
The custom dates back to a long period when it was used for different reasons.
In those days people shook hands not for reasons of friendship.
It was more or less in self-defense.
When persons met,they used to grasp each other's weapon hands to prevent them using their weapons.
In course of time the custom came to remain, while the danger from weapons gradually stopped.
It has now became the most familiar mode of greeting.
